A day for Rabies!

A day for Rabies!! September 28th; Louis Pasteur's Death Anniversary is considered as World Rabies Day,  as a tribute for Louis Pasteur who is the person developed the vaccine for Rabies and this program is meant to make awareness on rabies disease.

To make awareness on Rabies , indg makes it's home page with Rabies logo and indg provides an information how to take care about rabies and prevention.

Facts about Rabies in India:

In India alone, more than 30,000 victims die of rabies every year. Many of the cases do not even come for medical treatment.

About 3 million individuals are given post-exposure rabies vaccine prophylaxis annually in India of which almost 96% are bitten by dogs. A survey conducted in 41 medical colleges has shown that 1 out of every 20,000 cases admitted is that of rabies.
